Position: Building Official/ Inspector
The City of Mason is receiving applications for the position of Building Official/ Inspector. This position is responsible for the enforcement of all building codes, laws, regulations, and ordinances, performing field inspections to enforce and ensure compliance with adopted building codes, ordinances, and applicable regulations; in addition to building construction systems including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, gas, and fire protection.
This position also requires the following licensing or certifications: State Plumbing Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Stormwater Inspection, Floodplain Inspection, Customer Care Inspection, Residential Energy Code Certification, Commercial Energy Code Certification. Knowledge of Planning and Development, specifically with the processing of plats and zoning cases also required. Salary is dependent on skills, licensing and knowledge.

The City of Mason is accepting applications for a Water/Wastewater Utility Service Worker. This position involves construction and maintenance work requiring considerable physical labor and equipment skills with tools. A high school diploma or GED is required. This position requires State testing and licensing which the City provides training opportunities. Holders of TCEQ water/wastewater licenses will be given preference. Backhoe and other heavy equipment experience preferred. A valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one with 90 days is required. Pay is commensurate with experience.
